The Case of the Captive Kitty Cat

The sound of faint “meowing” was coming from somewhere near the front porch of PILC, but a cat was nowhere to be seen.

One day later, the meowing was still going on, so the search began for the stranded critter. Finally, the frantic feline was discovered at the bottom of a column on the front porch – some ten feet down and unable to climb out. Amarillo’s Animal Control Unit was notified and quickly responded with some rescue gear.

Out came a cuddly kitty that was hungry and a little shaken up by the ordeal, but otherwise in good health. It was just another chapter in the Center’s book of strange events titled, “Never a Dull Moment – True Stories in Independent Living.”
